Lonnia Brooks began designing and event planning over 20 years ago and has since became an indelible presence in the Northwest Arkansas area. Not only has she planned weddings, birthdays, corporate galas, and holiday parties, but she's also designed commercial spaces and new home builds for local residents. 

Lonnia takes pride in her ability to be empathetic and sympathetic—two completely different but equally necessary talents—and eagerly approaches each new project with the excitement and energy its hosts most certainly feel! Over her many years of event coordinating and design, Lonnia has made a plethora of contacts in NWA and cultivated a large list of reliable vendors, contractors, caterers, and rental establishments. She knows the ins and outs of the business and who to call to turn dreams into enchanting realities. 

For many years, Lonnia worked under the label Lonnia Brooks Décor & More.
​In 2024, she changed her brand name to LONNIA BROOKS DESIGN & EVENTS.

Meet the hype team

Lisa is Lonnia's younger sister and is one of the original members of her staff. She was there when Lonnia first began making a name for herself. Lonnia takes the lead while Lisa works behind the scenes to carry out her sister's vision. Not only is she Lonnia's right-hand (wo)man, but she is the visionary's feedback specialist, providing Lonnia with valuable critiques and observations to keep events and design projects focused. Lisa is not afraid of rolling up her sleeves to get hard or dirty work done. 

Lisa loves spending time with her granddaughters and is an avid Broncos fan.

Carly specializes in weddings and acts as Lonnia's timeline coordinator. She is the timekeeper tzar! Not only does she work with brides to maintain a firm schedule but she acts as Lonnia's assistant, helping with day-of set up and take down. She is organized, efficient, and dedicated to keeping weddings on track and fun! Her favorite thing about organizing weddings is working with clients to incorporate special moments into the big day and ensuring that they're executed without flaw. She has been working with Lonnia for over five years. 

Carly is a Chiefs fan and loves to listen to audiobooks. A hopeless romantic, her favorite genre is, of course, romance. She holds a Master's Degree in School Psychology from Emporia State University.

Addie's primary job is to assist with day-of set up and take down of events. Lonnia also calls on her to lend a hand with certain design projects. Addie has been acting as Lonnia's aide for four years now. She works in collaboration with others on the team to maintain timekeeping and prides herself in being attentive to the smallest of details. She credits Lonnia's colorful and extroverted personality in helping her come out of her own shell. "I see [Lonnia] constantly demonstrate care and creativity in everything that she does. Not only does she go above and beyond planning/decorating, but she also creates personal connections and realizes every person's vision. She makes event coordinating look easy!"

Addie is a student at the University of Arkansas, where she plans to graduate in 2027 with a degree in Supply Chain Management. She loves baseball and has three older brothers. In her spare time, Addie enjoys baking, especially brown-butter chocolate chip cookies!

Mely has been working Lonnia for nearly two years and has loved every minute of it. Her primary job is to help with set up and take down at events, acting as Lonnia's extra set of hands! Mely loves working with Lonnia because she is "a wonderfully magical person who deeply cares about her clients and will do anything to fulfill wishes!" 

Mely is a free-spirited individual and thrives alongside Lonnia's extroverted and colorful personality. She enjoys kickboxing and is the only granddaughter on both sides of her family!

Halsey is Lonnia's youngest daughter and has been by her mother's side for the past five years, acting as her extra set of hands. She most often appears at weddings to help with set up and take down but has been known to step in as timeline coordinator should Carly be preoccupied. Inherently inventive like her mother and ever the perfectionist, she is most often tasked with creative ventures which can range from designing and printing bar menus and table numbers to setting up centerpieces and other design elements. She adores working with her mother and watching ideas come to life. 

Halsey is mother to two wild boys. She and her family enjoy biking, hiking, hunting, and fishing--anything outdoors. Hey, it's NW Arkansas, right?

Hannah is Lonnia's youngest member and acts as her intern/assistant. As a higher schooler, Hannah is testing the waters of design to see if it's something she'd like to make a career out of. Because she specializes in art, Lonnia asks her to assist in all flavors of the field, meaning Hannah not only attends events and helps with set up but also aids Lonnia with new home builds, interior design, and remodeling. 

Recently, Hannah claimed the title State Winner in Horticulture through a competition held by the University of Arkansas. She loves agriculture, horticulture, being outdoors, and animals. She hopes Lonnia's infectious enthusiasm, energy, and flare for design will rub off on her!
